FIRST USA MAIL FROM CUBA. This cover was sent on the first northbound mail that was dispatched on the USS Dolphin after calling at Daiquiri on June 26, 1898. It arrived at Key West on June 30th where if was forwarded through the US mails. The sender, lieutenant Omar Bundy, led one of the two initial assaults at Daiquiri on June 26th. He later became a Brigadier general in the first World War.
